Gift Set｜Amaranthus caudatus｜ Other Products

Fast, easy, and wonderfully theatrical, Amaranthus caudatus is the heirloom annual that turns a sunny garden into a living tapestry. Also known as love-lies-bleeding, this dramatic amaranth produces long, trailing tassels of rich red to burgundy flowers that spill from tall, vigorous plants with glorious old-world flair.
Grown as an ornamental since the 1600s, love-lies-bleeding is fabulous in cutting gardens, cottage borders, dramatic annual beds, large containers, and late-season bouquets. Give it room to shine, and it becomes a bold vertical accent with cascading texture unlike almost anything else. The tassels are striking fresh or dried, pairing beautifully with sunflowers, cosmos, zinnias, celosia, grasses, and dark foliage.
Plant Amaranthus caudatus in full sun with well-drained soil and regular water while establishing. It grows quickly in warm weather and may self-sow where happy. Big, romantic, and deliciously over the top, this heirloom amaranth brings instant drama to summer and fall plantings. Explore more seasonal showstoppers in our Annuals collection.
