Big. Bold. Beautiful. The Kererū doesn’t do subtle, and neither does this sculpture.
From its thunderous wingbeats to its comical landings in fruit-laden trees, the Kererū is a beloved icon of the Aotearoa skies. Known for its striking size, iridescent plumage, and important ecological role, this native wood pigeon is the only bird left that can swallow and spread large native seeds — keeping giants like Tawa and Karaka alive and well.
The silhouette captures that round-bellied charm in enduring Corten® steel, bringing a bit of native drama and delight to any backyard. Whether you’re celebrating wildlife, gifting something uniquely Kiwi, or honoring a memory under the trees — this big bird brings real heart.
