As the V-19 Torrent proved less effective, the Republic Navy needed to innovate new starfighters. One of these was the Alpha-3 Nimbus-class or more commonly known as the “V-wing.” Sporting far greater speed and maneuverability, this new vehicle swapped a co-pilot for an astromech, which would handle much needed repairs and navigation in the heat of battle.
